My specialization is working with high school students, who are struggling with depression, anxiety, bullying, drugs, social anxieties, grief, loss, suicide ideation, sexual abuse, gender issues, parent/child /family relationships, sports performance issues, biracial families, learning disabilities and other teen-related problems. As a high School Counselor with over 16 years of experience in the education field, I focused on counseling pre-teens, teenagers, young adults, parents, and guardians. I also work with families. I have extensive experiences working with student-athletes, at-risk students, foster youths, homeless, teen parents and biracial students. I conduct individual and group therapy sessions.
My work in a school setting includes social skill training, violence prevention, feeling identification, stress reduction, as well as coordinating mental health support services for parents and students. I also carry out Individual, group, and family counseling sessions. Outside of school, I work with adults, empowering individuals.
I see therapy as an opportunity to explore, identify, practice and improve coping skills. As a mother and therapist, I am passionate about helping teenagers connect and create bonds that help students through adolescent years. I see therapy as an opportunity to learn and explore.
