The challenges we face as individuals, as a community, and as a society can have a profound impact on the way we view the world, ourselves and others. Exposure to multiple adverse life experiences over time (experienced directly or in anticipation of adverse experiences) can progressively increase symptoms of anxiety, depression, clinical, and sub-clinical PTSD and even impact the state and health of our bodies. Adverse life experiences are often stored in the body and can be coded to our DNA. Somatic forms of therapy such as EMDR and Brainspotting help to adjust this lens by integrating and fully reprocessing adverse experiences.
I mainly utilize an intensives approach to therapy compared to more traditional hourly sessions. In a brief consultation, we carefully consider your therapy goals and length of time needed to accomplish your goals, typically anywhere from 2-4 days. I use a trauma informed, holistic approach with EMDR, Brainspotting, and IFS at the forefront of treatment.
The work of therapy can be empowering, transformative, and spiritual. Healing and continuing to build a more whole self is a privilege and a responsibility we carefully hold as humans. Let me hold it with you. Sometimes holding all of this with more than two hands can be the key to transforming our lives into love, joy, and appreciation of the little things.
