About
The decision to seek therapy is often one people consider for a long time before making the first call. It's very important to me to make that initial contact as comfortable as possible, knowing that sharing painful emotions and experiences with a stranger is very difficult. I help clients identify what they want to gain from a therapy experience, and provide feedback all along the way to make sure we're working towards those goals. I feel very fortunate to be able to help enable people to enjoy more satisfying and fuller lives.
I work short and long-term, weekly and bi-weekly, individually and in couples. My 20+ years in college counseling, community mental health, addiction, hospitals, and now private practice has prepared me to address a range of issues. Clients seek help with depression, trauma, relationships, life change/transition, and anxiety/stress.
I often work with clients experiencing life transition: recent graduates, changing career, marrying, having children, newly single, recovering from illness. I frequently see people with family histories of addiction, or who have struggled with addiction themselves. I offer EMDR, a technique I have found very successful in working with traumatic memories.
