I invite people to be curious about their brains, to understand why they do, how they think! Addicted? Anxious? Angry? A relationship in trouble? All are about the brain. Learning about the amygdala and how it is connected to the rest of the brain, the alert it keeps us at, has everything to do with learning about doing life differently from here forward. Learning how visceral tension response on the body is a clue to what is going on in the mind, gives a sense of control in any situation, giving the balance between frontal lobe executive thinking and limbic system emotional reactivity.
At the Clear Thinking Counseling Alliance we use "art thinking" of outcome based thinking, often with exercises on paper. Without even having to share the issue, using these tools quickly gets to solution in any tension controlling our thinking, lives and relationship. Each session is about leaving with tools for doing life differently.
Introducing neurological function awareness to a counseling session gives an unusual power to an individual, family or group. giving, more insight into living life with clear, concise thinking in any situation, in every relationship. These skills helped me immensely after living through high trauma with my own son with drugs and stay in juvenile hall
