We all have an innate goodness, natural spontaneity and potential. We tend to disconnect from it in response to painful experiences. It is a natural, even genetic program, to want happiness and joy in life. The frantic attempt to numb or avoid pain,results in denial of joy and natural spontaneity. My commitment as a therapist is facilitation of healing and transformation towards joy and connection. I use a Holistic approach, seek authenticity, and believe that each person's uniqueness can bring inner peace, extend to family, and enhance relationships. The happiness we generate extends to others and then returns.
With a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (Trinity University 1978) and a Doctorate in Elementary Education (Arizona State University 1988) Karen D. Lee integrates a creative and educational approach with psychotherapy. Relying on a diversity of methods she focuses on transformation. Her clientele includes adults, couples, and adolescents.
Karen D. Lee believes that each person has within them their own inner guidance and the goal of therapy is to facilitate connection with inner guidance. This leaves a person with the ability to continue to rely on inner resources to handle stressful situations.
