I am an independently licensed, clinical counselor that started working in the field in 1997. Having worked with various populations from abused women and children, to addicted teens and adults, I have developed an immense compassion for people and their struggles. In working with both adults and youth, and helping families to grow and learn, my overarching hope in seeing people in a therapy setting is to help them gain a greater sense of well being and contentment.
I take a cognitive-behavioral approach in therapy, hoping to challenge my clients in their thinking as well as their choices and actions. During this process, I also try to provide support and validation, helping my clients to feel that they are not alone.
I believe that healing and growth are possible when we allow others to walk with us on our journey. As one of my client's described working with me: "You are a nice balance between being my coach and cheerleader."
