Having been raised in a dysfunctional family system, I have personal experience working with others facing addiction, trauma, partner betrayal, co-dependency, ACA issues, life transitions, grief and loss. My name is Karen Hoffmann, and I am a LPC, LCDC, CPTT-Candidate, and CCTP-II. Using a working collaboration, I work with people from diverse backgrounds to identify any unhelpful thought patterns and challenge their validity while increasing healthy coping skills and self-compassion.
Believing that you are more than your circumstances is at the heart of my approach. Using a positive, holistic, trauma-informed approach, I incorporate CBT, DBT skills, and Motivational Interviewing, 12 step and SMART recovery and ACA experience to help you navigate life challenges successfully.
A first session starts with rapport building, learning more about your story and goals for counseling. Clients typically tell me they feel better after a session, and think of our conversation for days to come. I believe we all hold our own answers and we will explore this in a compassionate, safe, non judgmental space.
