About
I have been working 15+ years with young children (ages 3-10), preteens, teens, as well as a families and adults. My areas of expertise include working with youth and adults with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, ADHD, poor coping skills, behavioral and academic difficulties, as well as life transitions, family conflicts and parenting challenges. My root philosophy is cognitive-behaviorally based (our thoughts & behaviors are connected and affect each other). I use an eclectic approach using tools from a wide range of theories. I'm committed to treating the whole person and not just a diagnosis or label.
I use play therapy techniques when working with children. A child's natural way of experiencing, communicating and mastering their world and relationships is through play. By using direct and indirect play therapy techniques children are best able to express themselves, learn new adaptive skills, and grow.
I believe that everyone is capable of moving past their current struggles and challenges. Start by building a strong foundation upon which change, growth, and emotional well being can thrive.
