I graduated from UNCC with her MA degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in Addiction Counseling. My therapeutic focus is on a person-centered approach while tailoring therapeutic modalities to assist her clients (adolescents to adults) with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. In addition I have a basic training EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) to be able to meet the needs of more clients. When I am not doing therapy I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs.
I have extensive training in person-centered therapy, and additional training in EMDR to assist my clients, tailoring therapeutic modalities to fit their current needs.
I have a belief that the therapeutic relationship comes first. I want my client's to feel comfortable to communicate with me about anything. It is through congruency, positive regard, and empathy that a strong therapeutic relationship is built.
