I'm not sure that I have an "ideal client". I am someone who is immensely curious about the human mind, who loves a challenge, and who always wants to help. I work with anyone and everyone and I'm always looking to experience something new! I am experienced in areas such as criminal justice issues, anger management, self-harm, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, trauma, addictions, mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, maternal issues, family issues, and more. I have worked in crisis stabilization, corrections, and residential trauma treatment, allowing me to develop a very well-rounded and diverse clinical background.

Through a warm and caring approach, my hope is to ease some of these concerns around starting our work together in order to build a strong therapeutic relationship that will aid you in progressing towards your goals. Since each person is unique, I strive to collaborate in a way that best meets your presenting concerns and goals for therapy, acknowledging the barriers that can impede you from being the person you’ve been wanting to be. I offer both 60 and 90 minute sessions.

I am a therapist of color that is passionate about helping other people thrive in every area of life. Living in a society where we aren't given permission to express our emotions or given the skills to handle them can lead us to a place of feeling stuck, isolated, and confused. Whether it's feeling low or depressed from life circumstances, anger from past trauma and injustices, or just feeling tired of being sick and tired; I have experienced all of these things and want to help you examine and unpack the troubles you are experiencing in life. In my practice, I create a space for you to be the authentic you with no judgment or shame

I counsel the following populations: individuals struggling with anger, depression, grief, anxiety and/or trauma (such as acute trauma or PTSD); couples struggling with communication, trust, infidelity, and/or abusive patterns; and teens struggling with motivation, self-esteem, suicidal preoccupations, anti-social or other behavioral issues. I counsel individuals struggling with psychotic disorders, personality disorders and dissociative disorders. I provide family counseling as well as conflict resolution and mediation services. I provide coaching for wellness, psycho-spiritual growth, communication skills, relationship skills and parenting skills. Also, I provide psychosocial assessments.

I provide therapy not only because I strive to support others, but because I believe therapy works. I admire the vulnerability and strength that go into the healing process. I know you have within you what it takes to heal, but that doesn't mean you have to do it alone. You deserve to feel safe enough in both your mind and body to fully engage in life. My clients are seeking out therapy for relief from their complex trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and/or anger. I work with anyone ages 14 and up.

I work with those who struggle with anger. Often times the anger is brought on by unmet expectations and merely a symptom of deeper issues under the surface. It's my job to metaphorically stand in a place you can not see, and point you in the right direction as to the cause of what is contributing to the anger. By doing so, you can receive insight that will enrich your life and change it for the better.

I will help you find your own way through the difficulties and crises as they may reveal your longing for more authenticity in life. Anxiety, depression, vague emptiness, sudden anger outburst felt within yourself or in your relationships may be a call for your unlived self so it can be integrated; it doesn't have to be just a problem that needs a fix or correction. This integration is the key to bring completeness and fulfillment in both yourself and your relationships.

We are all on a journey. As we face the hills and valleys of life, we need the support of others to walk alongside us to encourage and to navigate our paths. I have experience working with individuals and families experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, parent-child interaction issues, grief, anger, relationship issues, family concerns, school issues and other mental health concerns. I am committed to providing professional, holistic, evidence-based, and compassionate mental health support. I view the counseling process as a collaboration process between me and the clients.

Individuals, couples and families are all seen as my ideal client. I typically see clients from the ages of 13 and up, but I do make some exceptions. Clients who are having difficulties with communicating their emotions, identifying their strengths and their core self, or having dysfunctional dyadic or family patterns are clients who I know I can help. Clients coming regularly and genuinely working with me to accomplish the goals we set out at the beginning of therapy are ideal. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS), a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist (CART), a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider (CTMH), a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and a Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist (C-DBT). I have experience with Inpatient & Outpatient Treatment, School and Work Support, Probation Requirements as well as facilitated Couple, Family and Group Therapy since 2001.
