I am a mindfulness and somatic based counselor who believes that our trauma and stress can be held within the body. Processing it in mindful ways aids us to moving on to greater things. Working at all stages of life, we face different demands and struggles. I work with families, couples and individuals based on their needs of the moment. I am also passionate about working within the LGBTQ+ community and helping others find a safe haven to feel better understood.

Welcome! It's normal to have a lot of questions about therapy and it can definitely be an intimidating process. My goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where we can work together toward your goals. I will use a combination of research-based approaches that are collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. In each case, I provide empathy, patience and a gentle push when needed. I specialize in working with teens who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, school related issues and substance abuse. Your teen can expect to acquire tools needed to gain a sense of control, manage difficult emotions, and feel more confident in their relationships, friendships, and decision-making process.

Clinical Supervisor Wanda Montemayor is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S-AT), a Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC, ATCS) , a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor ( RPT-S) with a specialty in EMDR and animal-assisted therapy. In addition to her traditional counseling and therapy (talk therapy) methods, she integrates art therapy for her clients, as well as in community art projects throughout her community. Her unique background and experience, along with her diverse toolset, allow her to help clients overcome obstacles, grow, and heal. Wanda is offering in person therapy and teletherapy.

I provide counseling for individuals, couples, marriages and families. I also provide individual sessions for Meridian Tapping and iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation. I integrate Imago, Meridian Tapping and meditation to empower you in learning to navigate your life and relationships. I guide you in exploring body feelings, emotions and beliefs as well as your relationship systems. I will guide you in learning how to become safe with yourself and how to be empowered in the present while living in the world. I look forward to working with you. Couple issues? Family problems? Children or Adolescents with issues? An individual struggling with problems? No matter the stage in your life or relationship there can be bumps in the road at times. Sometimes no matter how hard you may try, you may find you are struggling. Sometimes we find that despite our best efforts we may need help with certain aspects of life. Perhaps we need help leaving old unhealthy behaviors behind, or maybe we need help learning better ways of communicating with our loved ones.

The ideal client is a one who participates in therapy with a strong desire to learn and create personal, and interpersonal growth. One that shows courage in reaching out for help, and acknowledging their imperfections as true strengths. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, relational challenges, interpersonal challenges, grief and loss, anger, substance use/abuse, or simply wishing to understand their own process better. Therapy is a process which must enlist mutual trust and respect of the client, and therapist, in order to create a refreshed perspective to heal old wounds and patterns.

Patients very often say "I wish I had started my treatment years ago". The harsh reality is that emotional struggles to this day continue to be stigmatized and shamed. The brain is an organ, and like any other physiological system it may require some fine tuning from time to time. Whether you or a loved one have been under the grips of anxiety, depression, difficulty sleeping, or simply sub-optimal functioning, we can have an open, honest discussion about whether medication is the right answer. Throughout my 15 years in psychiatry, I've had no greater joy than to see my patients improve. It's never too late to get help.

Licensed since 1993 and in private practice since 1999. Previous work-related experience includes working at a residential treatment center, youth shelter, juvenile detention center, chemical dependency unit, adolescent and adult in-patient hospital, Employee Assistance Program, crisis intervention, in-take assessments, and intensive out-patient programming. Over the past two decades, I have served individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. I am a certified and approved DOT Substance Abuse Professional.

My hope is to provide you with a safe place to work on whatever symptoms or concerns you are currently dealing with. I have been in the field for over 15 years and have worked with an array of populations. My experience is in the areas of trauma, PTSD, ADHD, adolescents (at-risk youth), relationship issues, divorce, and law enforcement issues. In addition, I have experience working with veterans to provide a second opinion and/or assessment in support of their VA Disability claims.

I'm about love, self-compassion, radical acceptance, embracing failure, trusting your innate wisdom and starting over. I fundamentally believe in every person's ability to recover from trauma, addiction and life, in general. Experience has taught me that no one is really avoiding anything. When people accuse you of not dealing with something, what they are really saying is you aren't dealing with it the way they want you to. From my perspective, if you wake up every morning and breathe in and out all day long, you're dealing with your stuff. A tiny bit of intention is all it takes to begin healing.

I believe that all people have the ability to grow and heal. As a counselor, I work with individuals, couples, and families, tailoring my approach to address clients’ specific needs in order to develop a safe, non-judgmental environment in which clients feel empowered to make positive changes. In our sessions, I’ll help you identify and address behavioral patterns and underlying issues to create lasting change. To ensure your needs are being met, we’ll work together to state your needs clearly and create healthy boundaries.

While well versed and experience in traditional interventions and therapeutic styles, such as CBT and DBT, Nicole's approach to therapy is collaborative and holistic. She includes mythology, spirituality and other non-traditional interventions in her treatment planning, particularly working to include a client’s cultural background into their care. Nicole’s guiding principle in therapy and wellness is authenticity. This is true in how she presents herself to clients and in encouraging clients to embrace their most genuine selves.

I entered the field of counseling because of a desire to help those in crisis or who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. I realized I wanted to be a counselor while working at a local community college. I saw students who were struggling academically but were very bright. I came to understand that there are many factors that go into being successful at life. I have always had a helping nature but didn’t fully understand why people behaved they way they did. Through my education and experience I can now help people in their personal lives, relationships and careers.
