As a counselor specializing in anxiety, depression, OCD, behavioral issues, ADHD, insomnia, TBI, and memory challenges, I'm here to empathetically listen and support you on your journey. I value clients who are motivated to engage in a collaboration, aiming to cultivate self-regulation and coping skills that can enhance their daily lives. I seek clients who are posed for positive transformation but may lack the necessary tools. I am drawn to those who share an eagerness to enhance both cognitive functioning and emotional regulation, driven by a desire to be a better person, spouse, parent, sibling or supportive person to others.

I started Family Matters Counseling Center after I realized that a family system is one that the client creates and is not born into. From here I developed a passion to learn each unique families story to help them overcome their obstacle in maintaining balance within their family system. I help clients re-ignite their passion and hope in reaching their career and personal goals. I do this in a collaborative and gentle approach as I assist you in your journey with every step.

People can make better decisions if they have enough information, and they understand how their behaviors and thoughts and experiences impact them. Counseling includes the client’s active participation, involvement and commitment to recognize problems and concerns and changing behaviors and thoughts and feelings. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I obtained my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from The University of Houston – Clear Lake, and my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. Whoop! Much of my experience has included treating adults struggling with complex PTSD, OCD, phobias, social anxiety, addiction, adult ADHD, and depression. Additionally, I have a passion for providing treatment to other helpers, such as first responders, veterans, social workers, counselors, nurses, doctors, teachers, and those who endlessly serve our communities.

I love working with anyone that feels like something has not been going right for them, be it for a long time or just a little while. I enjoy working with people that have anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment difficulties and people that just are feeling, again, like something is off. I seek to both equip my clients with the skills and tools they need to more effectively get through their lives as well as address inner difficulties so that the quality and satisfaction of life can be increased.

We provide trauma informed individual, couples, family, and group sessions. As well as yoga and mindfulness sessions, and art therapy. We are specialists in trauma informed therapy and our practice provides individual, couples, group, and family therapy services. Our licensed and skilled team of therapists is devoted to providing quality therapy services and our social justice team is committed to seeing you thrive in the community.
