Hi there! My name is Kai and my expertise is the lived experiences of BIPOC, queer, and disabled folks as I find joy in being a listening ear for those who have yet to be heard. You may be going through difficult life transitions and find it hard to feel connected to others; perhaps you received a diagnosis that is unfamiliar to you and you are unsure of what comes next; maybe you are thinking about your family or you are exploring your cultural identity, and it can be easy to feel disconnected even with friends around. Whatever the case may be, I would be honored to navigate the waters with you. Let's reclaim your life together.
My counseling approach is warm and non-judgemental, while encouraging and realistic. Blending a feminist lens with DBT, we may discuss the impact of your identity on everyday experiences while considering ways to grow. I am happy to provide letters of support for gender affirming care/surgeries, as well as explore EMDR to unpack past trauma.
Bettering yourself is a conscious decision, and I applaud you for taking the first step!
