When clients come to see me they often feel hurt, numb, confused, frustrated, lost, or alone. I help clients identify the negative patterns they get caught in, connect with themselves and those they care about most, and support them in finding new solutions to old problems.
Having completed training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, I specialize in helping couples identify and overcome their pattern of disconnection by cultivating a secure emotional bond. Attachment theory--the idea that humans have a need for consistent and flexible (but not perfect!) emotional connection throughout their lives--informs my work.
I bring a relentless sense of hope to the counseling process, knowing that people and relationships can change. This hope comes out of my own life experience and the work I see my clients doing on a daily basis. It's why I find this work so rewarding!
