About

Philosophy is often seen as a dry, esoteric academic field with no connection to everyday human life and its problems. This is simply untrue. For millennia, philosophers have asked and given meaningful answers to the deepest, most enduring questions of all: Who are we? What is our purpose? What are truth, freedom, justice, beauty? What is the good life? What is real? What is 'nature' and our relationship to it? In short, philosophers think about what we take for granted when we think about anything else. Together, we will strive to awaken your own philosopher within and, in the words of Nietzsche, help you to become who you are.
I am an APPA-certified counselor and professional philosopher with over a decade of classroom and research experience. With a background in existentialism, ancient Greek philosophy, aesthetics, and feminism, I offer counseling for existential anxiety, concept/value reflection, ethical dilemmas, inconsistent beliefs, identity issues, and coping with change.
Many of our problems arise and persist not because we're sick, but because we need help interpreting and navigating a sick world. Philosophical reflection is a source of freedom and personal empowerment, expanding and deepening your grasp of the beliefs and ideas that invisibly shape your life. I facilitate this process through safe and respectful dialogue.
