People come into therapy sometimes because they do not know what is wrong but that things do not seem right. I practice psychodynamic therapy in the Object Relations model which focuses on the development of empathy—a process of 'knowing with' between client and therapist—to uncover previously unknown or inaccessible sources of frustration and distress. In this way, psychotherapy can help to approach issues of depression, loss, anxiety, trauma, relationships, and self-esteem with greater capacity and potential for change.
My interest extends beyond external behavior and into how meaning is created from within our deeper selves to impact our perception of the world. This approach is particularly beneficial in experiencing one's self as a whole person rather than a collection of problems. This will be challenging, revealing and rewarding.
