Hello, my name is Jeremy, and I work for Utah Lakes Neuroscience Mental Health Center, where we take an integrative approach to Mental Health and Trauma Therapy. I believe the key to healing is finding wholeness and balance in all areas of your life. I focus on the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model and use my underlying lens of psychodynamic therapy to inform other more cognitive and behavioral models of therapy. I work with a wide-ranging population of people, and focus on trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, stage of life concerns, grief, and finding meaning and purpose in life.

One of my goals with therapy is to help others find meaning in their lives. It can be difficult when one feels as if they are not healthy emotionally or mentally. I work to have a good natured approach and strong connection that can help me assist clients in finding positive aspects in themselves and in building resiliency and strength. I have worked with a wide-ranging populace of clients and have expertise in working with trauma. I believe that the key to good therapy is the relationship, and I am a person-centered therapist, yet I work with any different modalities, depending on each individuals needs.

Whether it be mental health issues, trauma, addiction or anything else that causes us to feel lack of control in our lives, it is incredibly isolating. Unfortunately, isolation causes all of those issues to just get worse and worse; and we seem to lose ourselves along the way. It is demoralizing to look at our lives and feel like our true selves are just out of reach. When this occurs, we can’t help but look in the mirror and just feel broken or, at the very least, desperate for change. While working with me you will experience the healing power of connection, and an opportunity to fully examine yourself without judgment.

We all have strengths and skills. Sometimes we have tried everything and are out of ideas. If we knew a better way, we would use it! Sometimes we face challenges we could not anticipate or prepare for. The stress we deal with, the depression or anxiety we feel, can interfere with our relationships or functioning and become an obstacle to the life we want. Understanding how our past shapes our present can help us create a more hopeful, satisfying future. If your challenges have brought you to the point where you are ready for additional support, I’d like to help you increase your tool box and reconnect with your own resilience.

Although I believe that the goals of therapy are always first and foremost determined by my clients, I generally hold the hope for each of them that they will find more joy in life. To that end, I believe in an eclectic theoretical approach, one that draws on a wide range of perspectives including humanist/existential philosophy, Jungian psychodynamics, trauma-informed and client-centered practice, because I believe people are eclectic. Because I have both personal and professional experience with this work, I view the relationship between client and therapist as central and fundamental to the therapeutic process being effective.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
