Brooks Psychology: Women's Wellness. The foundation of my therapeutic approach is a combination between Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy with an implementation of Creative Arts. My sessions are forward focused in which the treatment plan is focused on areas of growth. With that said every treatment plan created is personalized for the individual based on their needs, wants and symptoms, but is catered to female oriented issues. As a survivor of childhood sexual assault, physical and mental abuse, and rape, I understand how important it is to feel safe in your environment, which is why I offer Mobile Counseling. I come to you, in an environment of your choosing, because unless you feel safe and comfortable, your healing will not progress the way you need it to. I customize each treatment plan according to your needs, and adjust accordingly. I do not believe in cookie cutter counseling/therapy, as rape and violence is not cookie cutter. If you are ready to stop surviving your life and start living your life, then I am the counselor for you.

My philosophy on what makes an effectual clinician is deep compassion along with a strong ability to confront what a client can not see, doesn't want to see, or runs from, in a way that is digestible. This leads to transformational changes that are permanent and life changing. In my opinion, Carl Jung said it best, "Every defeat of the ego is a victory for the soul."

Hey there, y'all! Welcome to my page. My name is Megan, and I'm from the country outside of Houston, TX. I live in the city now and began working inpatient in the Houston area in 2016. Primarily I have worked with adults with chronic mental illness, but I have experience with all types of clients. I consider mental health multi-faceted and am so happy to be able to help people develop a holistic approach to their own mental health. I emphasize the importance of spiritual, emotional, physical, sexual and intellectual health as a whole.
