My clients are relatively high functioning, but feeling stuck or facing common challenges involving relationships, life transitions or existential issues of meaning/purpose. I work best with motivated clients who are ready to do the hard work that's necessary for lasting change. I've witnessed awe-inspiring change in clients, which is what continues to motivate me, and I have seen how my 60+ years of life experience and hard-earned wisdom have helped my clients. I'm passionate about my work and approach it with a high level of professionalism, but I also don't hesitate to inject a bit of humor.

After spending 14 years learning about the human brain and mind, was trained extensively in various treatments, and working since 2009 at almost all settings, I learned to focus on what you personally struggle with. There are much more to us than having a disorder. Therefore, I listen to you and know you well in order to tailor the treatment plan that fits you the most. My end goal, besides eliminating the undesirable symptoms, is helping you finding your own path and having a better quality of life. I also teach graduate students what they need to know to make the right diagnosis and apply the best most optimal treatment for it.

Celeste specializes in working with clients who are seeking to unseat, and unlock long held patterns in their lives. Individuals who wish to get to the root of their problems, and face issues that may be preventing meaningful change and peace in their lives. Oftentimes these clients are those who have had traditional therapy methods or have been doing their own self-help work and are at a “stuck” point and are looking for answers that can be accessed through somatic or meditation based work. She also works with therapists looking to deepen their own personal process to increase their efficacy and joy in their work as a therapist.

I am aware the path to healing can be a bumpy and uncomfortable one. I provide a compassionate and empathetic approach to this healing process. My approach looks at our internal wounds that left untreated, continue to cause pain. I like to ask, in the words of Dr. Gabor Mate’, ‘why the pain, not why the addiction?' We know using a substance or behavior is how we cope with the pain that feels unmanageable. Our pain, ‘dis-ease’, and dis-comfort often stems from unresolved grief & loss and are the result of 'what happened to us'. Let's look at what happened to us instead of what is wrong with us. I am a licensed clinical counselor with 5 years of clinical counseling experience working with individuals and couples. I focus on issues such as substance use, addiction, LGBTQIA+ issues, and life transitions. I also address career concerns, stress over life decisions, relationships, boundaries, and healthy habits for overall wellness. I draw from motivational interviewing, strength-based, trauma-focused solution-focused brief (SFBT), and psychodynamic modalities. Hello!! The right match between therapist and client can be one of the largest factors to therapeutic success. My view of the therapeutic relationship is that of a shared journey between client and therapist. I have been in private practice for ten years and I continue to be a "client" as well, which I believe gives me sensitivity and insights resulting in a non judging collaborative approach. I see therapy as an opportunity to use symptoms as a gateway to self discovery and growth, as a self actualizing process as we heal wounds, work through issues, and discover self potential.
