Divorce and family issues are hard to deal with, so I provide therapy to help through hard times. I work with parents and grandparents who are suffering due to alienation and post traumatic stress. I also assist in high-conflict divorce cases where parental alienation exists meeting with the children and adults involved. My experience includes educational counseling experience, as well as life experience. Helping parents and children get through many life changes such as divorce and re-adjustments can be assisted with therapy by giving them tools to cope.

Welcome! As a Licensed Professional Counselor of 12 years, my theoretical orientation/approach for care is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Although I can assist you in many different areas of concern, I specialize in the areas of anxiety, depression, and stress; and, conflict resolution within relationships.

My approach is a holistic therapeutic approach, which involves understanding the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. My primary focus is to assist clients to identify and build upon their strengths and talents, leading to positive change in their lives; allowing them to reach their fullest potential - individually, in relationship, as part of a community and in their life's work. I have a deep respect for the dignity of the individual, with their unique cultural, religious/spiritual beliefs, and sexual orientation. In addition to in office sessions,I am currently using securely encrypted video conferencing, so am able to serve clients in all of Georgia.

I started my career as a therapist at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and if there is one thing I learned from that time it's that, more often than not, it's not you- it's the system. Since then I have been helping fellow women and members of the LGBTQ+ community rebuild self-esteem, manage anxiety, and heal unresolved trauma. I also help families of LGBTQ+ youth gain understanding about their child's experience and empower them to provide the best support they can.

Cecilla studied and graduated in psychology in her native country of Peru. After immigrating to the USA, she has earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology. She has completed AMO academy's required training and evaluation and was awarded the title of Master Hypnotherapist certification. Currently, Cecilla is pursuing her master's degree in Clinical Psychology. She believes in focusing on guiding the client to find the root cause of the mental difficulties and working together to meet desired goals.
