As one ages, one experiences the "Winds of Change". Some of us experience these changes in our lives one at a time, and others experience a world wind that may take our breath away. As a therapist that concentrates on Holistic remedies, I find that many of us are not able to handle all of the changes that may occur at one time, which may leave us feeling depressed and/or anxious. However, during this state of "change" is it actually depression and/or anxiety... or is it a result of what has or is occurring in our lives?

To the outside world, it seems like you have it all together. But inside you struggle with the frequent suspicion that you are not good enough. In an effort to prove it wrong, you overextend yourself with being the perfect employee, partner, or parent. Because when your mind is unoccupied, the inner critic who lives rent-free in your head can be relentless So you keep yourself distracted by setting near impossible goals for yourself over and over, and then attacking yourself for not reaching them. And it has become exhausting.

I work with adults needing emotional support and specialize in releasing shame and guilt from experiencing trauma. In session we address the parts of your personality that hold protection over the wounded and vulnerable inner child and we release the frozen emotions that keep that inner child fearful, insecure, withdrawn, or stuck. When we feel burdened with negative feelings, it is easy for us to become angry, depressed, have low self-esteem, or be easily triggered because the unresolved energy remains.

I enjoy working with children (9+) adolescents, and adults to develop conflict resolution skills, communication skills, emotion regulation skills, social skills, impulse control, self-exploration, and self-esteem building skills. I specialize in an Eclectic holistic approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and other treatment approaches. I am a Board Approved Supervisor and I strive to help people explore and develop their strengths in an effort to empower them to confidently manage symptoms as well as challenges that present in life.
