I am fascinated by the Jungian psychoanalytic orientation.
It's never too late to understand yourself. If you can synchronize your heart and mind, you can harmonize your life. The therapeutic space I create is to help you learn about who you are as an individual and see your blind spots. Regardless if you're coming on your own or as a couple, the therapeutic work that we will be done is not just about solving problems. It’s primarily to help you figure out what's behind these issues and increase your self-worth along the way. Therapy is challenging, but can be fulfilling. The goal is to facilitate you in witnessing your life in the healthiest of ways as you become closer to your true self.

I find it rewarding to work with men and women who are skeptical or unfamiliar with psychotherapy. There are many different schools of psychotherapy and this can be confusing. I enjoy educating people as to how best to make use of psychotherapy for their particular needs or crisis. I promote an open dialogue about how our working together is feeling and whether it is producing the results they want. Some clients seek short term help while some seek deeper exploration into their personality, dreams and conflicts. For them I offer a Jungian Analytic approach.

My integrative approach incorporates dreamwork, Authentic Movement, Marion Woodman's BodySoul Rhythms approach and other embodied, creative disciplines, together with in-depth verbal psychotherapy. I combine many powerful modalities, including Jungian inner work, neuroscience, fitness, career, and spirituality, but I will carefully tailor my approach to honor your unique needs and possibilities.
Love. Joy. Ecstasy. Awe. In my 18 years of clinical experience, I’ve discovered that we each have far more capacity for these expansive feelings than we often realize. Whether you are contending with many challenges, or feel ready to fly through the stars, I can work with you collaboratively to shape a life that fulfills your highest dreams, and maybe even soars beyond them. I’m eager to share what I’ve learned about our abilities to break out of old patterns of pain, fear, and shame into fruitful creativity and communion with the most inspiring aspects of being alive.

I have a very relational approach informed by who I am and my training in Internal Family System (Parts Work) and Jungian Psychology.
Suffering can come in many forms. It is personal and distressing and can also be overwhelming, paralyzing, and lonely. But you do not have to face it alone. Many have come to me for help with what makes them unhappy and out of balance. I take satisfaction when my clients accept their own complexity and uniqueness and have successful outcomes in their lives due to therapy.

Coming from a Jungian background having attended Pacifica Graduate Institute, I enjoy working with archetypes, dream material, play therapy for adults, and exploring past experiences for present benefit.
Is your communication suffering? Think about it for a moment. Are you communicating well with others? With yourself? What happens when communication is: Misunderstood Misguided Missing? Successful relationships require effort, though they need not be difficult. Stress, anger, anxiety, and depression can affect your satisfaction. If you improve your communication with yourself and others, then you have a better chance at more satisfying relationships. And that is where I can help. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and more than couples to improve communication and deepen their relationships.

I individualize treatment, weaving Relational, Jungian, and Expressive Arts Therapy with CBT, DBT and ACT based on your needs.
I am here to tell you, you are not broken, even if your mind may tell you so. When we are anxious or in despair, we can’t think straight or engage our usual survival strategies. It can impact our health, body, emotions, relationships, perception of self and reality. We can't make sense of the distorted thoughts alone. We need a therapist to help guide us. I often help young women who are feeling shy, anxious, obsessive, depressed, struggling with perfectionism or life transitions. I enjoy helping girls and women achieve developmentally appropriate social-emotional, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

In addition to my Jungian optimism about the self-healing powers of the soul, I bring a background in management, education and pastoral care that gives me a wide perspective on the problems facing men and the male soul in our world.
Are you a man being troubled by conflict in relationships or dissatisfaction in work? Dark moods, sexual questions? Self-sabotaging ideas, or habits like substances or porn? Doubts or fears about yourself? Being an ally for the male soul under challenge: that is what my work is about.

I am certified as an adult and child Jungian psychoanalyst.
Psychotherapy can be an opportunity to reduce emotional suffering, to understand what gets in the way of becoming the person we want to be, and to find a meaningful path forward. In my work with adult clients, I often am engaged around significant relationship challenges, health and wellness concerns, career misgivings, and blocks in expressing oneself. My approach with children and teenagers emphasizes developmental strengths, family supports, and planning for the future. I provide clinical consultation to other mental health professionals for many of these same topics.

I use theoretical orientations such as Jungian depth psychotherapy, object relations, and somatic approaches to understanding my clients and helping them connect to different unconscious fragments of themselves.
Often, our past relationships leave us wounded. The story that we tell ourselves becomes permeated with negative thoughts, low self-worth, and shame. As these feelings manifest, we become anxious and depressed. Therapy can help us discover perspectives that create a new narrative, one in which we have different ways to manage our emotions and lead a more enjoyable life.

I have been trained as a Jungian oriented depth therapist, blending narrative therapy, mindfulness and cognitive behavioral techniques.
The people I've been able to help most feel stuck and crave direction in recovering an assured sense of who they are and their potential. We are all creatures of adaptation and many of us learn early on to adjust to whatever the world asks of us. Accordingly, we may internalize the priorities of our parents, our peers, and our culture, agendas that don’t always serve our own interest.

She is a certified Jungian Analyst, and is particularly interested in the study of dreams and how they facilitate the process of individuation.
Crises and painful emotions can be the beginning of a journey toward transformation and wisdom. If you are looking for a deeper and more connected sense of yourself, and fulfillment in life, then you may be ready for a commitment to the therapeutic process. I believe my empathic presence - the capacity to hear, see and feel a situation from the other person's vantage point- is central to the healing process. Within such a safe relationship the patient can develop an open attitude toward the unconscious; exploration of the meaning and purpose of one's life can unfold.

I am trained in Jungian Analytic Psychotherapy, and (for couples) Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
I am a psychotherapist with offices in SF and Oakland, where I treat both adults and couples. I take a relational and collaborative approach to psychotherapy. We are all unique, consciously and unconsciously influenced by the relationships and life-events that leave a lasting impact on how we address our current situation. Difficulties can sometimes arise when the habitual thoughts, emotions, or behaviors that once served us now have us feeling stuck, depressed, and powerless. Fear, ambivalence, compulsivity and patterned thinking can hamper our ability to address the inevitable twists and turns of daily life.

My work is informed by my life experience, and my study of contemporary relational Psychodynamic theory, Jungian psychology and Somatic based therapies.
Therapy is an open, non-judgmental space to come into contact with your thoughts, feelings and the complex and challenging aspects of life. Through the process you will begin to know yourself, more honestly and intimately in order to live a deeply meaningful life with clear intention and heart aligned purpose. As we work together a hope of mine is to collaborate with you in a empathetic, compassionate and creative way. I will bring an integrative framework into the process using a holistic approach to healing and unifying body, heart and mind. Our suffering is worthy of our time, our curiosity and our compassionate attention.

I am a certified Jungian Analyst through the C.
My practice is helping others develop the skills they need to become more resilient to the pressures and stressors of life and to live a meaningful authentic life, striving towards wholeness. Suffering is part of life, and can we learn to be with it, possibly even lean into it, and listen for what it might be wanting us to learn. Depression, anxiety, cravings, problems in relationships, feeling stuck and loss of meaning, can occur when we aren't connected to our authentic selves. Together we will work towards creating and nurturing who you uniquely are in the world. When we become more aware – we can open to life.

Jungian analysis assumes our our brains are busy night and day, often with matters we prefer to disregard, such as personal attributes we have learned to dislike, and experiences at odds with the selves we want to present to our own or others' eyes.
I work with adults of all ages who seek the greatest access to their abilities and skills, wish to understand and accept themselves more fully by mitigating both internal and external obstacles, experience compassion, and act with social responsibility. Such goals may to grapple overcome low self esteem, maintain sobriety, come to terms with painful life experiences, and develop reality-based trust in relatioonships.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
