I work with individuals, couples, and families facing anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, with a special focus on Asian and other POC immigrant and cross-cultural families who have experienced complex trauma. I believe our symptoms make sense when viewed through the lens of our early experiences, family histories, and the systems we live in. We often develop resilience and survival strategies in difficult situations that may no longer serve us well. Therapy is most effective when it addresses the root causes of these issues, not just the symptoms you're experiencing now.
Life transitions can be challenging and overwhelming. My approach uses relational psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on understanding how your past relationships and experiences shape your current emotions and behaviors. Together, we will explore these patterns, helping you gain insight and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
I offer a warm, reflective, and collaborative space tailored to your unique and specific needs. Areas I specialize in are: intersections of racial / gender / sexual identity and trauma, relationship challenges, dissociation / disconnection from emotions, avoidant attachment, and transitions to parenthood.
