A confidential, comprehensive assessment of each individual's needs will be the first step to determine the type of treatment. Respect for each individual's time, circumstances and targeted goals will be kept in the forefront of all treatment decisions. I welcome parents to be prepared to participate thoroughly in the treatment of their child, preteen or adolescent. Therapeutic care requires commitment from the family and the individual. Adult clients will value the secure and growth promoting interventions used that lead to meaningful emotional regulation and change.
My approach is very practical. My goal is to establish a secure, confidential setting to address the unique strengths and challenges faced by each individual in my care. Evidence based cognitive, behavioral and analytical approaches will be used to help individuals and families address and manage targeted behavioral and emotional challenges.
Building a strong, secure relationship with children, families and couples is the foundation of all care. Intervention always includes education in self-care, cognitive restructuring and maintenance of behavioral change.
