Do your child's behaviors and emotions impact you, your child and your family on the daily? Do they impact your child's sense of self, relationships with other adults and peers? How about their school life? Do you find yourself stressed, confused, or hopeless as how to help them? It's so hard to watch our children struggle. Possible sources of stress that may be impacting your child's behavior: parental/family conflict, death of a pet, move of residence(s), school bullying, abuse/neglect, medical trauma, divorce, or separation to name a few. If any of this resonates, your child may qualify and benefit from play-based therapy.
I offer a quiet, safe place for your child to process their feelings, relationships, loss, grief, and sense of self. I use a non-directive play therapy method which means their is no pressure to talk, perform, or be anyone other than themselves. The play is their therapy; their work. Play therapy is widely used for young children and effective.
I wish all parents knew that help is available. You don't have to struggle on your own. It's normal to feel worried or embarrassed. I applaud your bravery for seeking support now. I believe with the right support your children will get better and you will gain new insight, education and awareness of your child and your role as their parent.
