About
People seeking therapy are often feeling frightened, alone and in great emotional turmoil and pain. My main focus is for my clients to feel safe, heard, understood and respected. I attempt to avoid interpretations and prefer to engage the individual, couple or family in an interactive dialogue. I believe realness and authentic communication are key factors in the healing process. Also, I never underestimate the therapeutic value of humor at certain times. My treatment approach is eclectic. I
utilize psychodynamic, gestalt, existential and/or cognitive/behavioral interventions depending on the client and the situation.
I specialize in helping people to grieve loss; whether it be the loss
of a loved one, a way of life or the end phase
of one's own life. My areas of expertise
are in bereavement, death/dying issues,
crisis/trauma and working with older
adults and their families.
