I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Clemson University and Master’s and Specialist’s degrees in School Psychology from the University of Georgia. I have experience working within the public school setting as a School Psychologist and as a Child and Adolescent Psychologist II for the SC Department of Mental Health. I am a former President of the International Dyslexia Association - SC and member of the SC Dyslexia Law Task Force. I am the former Co-Owner of Breakwater Associates, a multidisciplinary private practice that offered psychoeducational evaluations, dyslexia therapy, counseling, and executive function coaching.
I offer psychoeducational evaluations that measure a student's cognitive profile, academic achievement, and social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. The evaluation can reveal ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, and Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Disorders. Based on the results, I provide recommendations for intervention and/or accommodations.
The psychoeducational evaluation process begins with a 90-minute initial consultation with the parent, in which I gather information regarding the presenting problem, background history, and any other concerns, so that I may obtain a comprehensive understanding of the issues.
