Announcement icon I am currently meeting new and longstanding clients via Zoom / online video sessions and billing via Square, for contact-free transactions.
I come to my work as a therapist from backgrounds as an artist, hospital oncology chaplain, art professor and activist, meditation teacher, lover of movement, backpacker Dharma bum, essayist, would-be trainer of rescue pups, and Buddhist nun. I've been around the block, tried many things, succeeded and failed, and carried my heart through many of this world's wild, beautiful, boring, terrible, sacred spaces. All of which feels relevant to working with clients who dare to trust their creative and intuitive processes as they come into fierce, tender, inalienable wholeness.
I work with Expressive Arts Therapy, inviting spontaneous creativity to access strengths and insights that may lie outside clients' everyday perceptions. I also draw on Somatic Experiencing, a trauma-resilience modality that works with present-moment experience of the body. I offer meditation/mindfulness practices for self-regulation and resourcing.
If you are looking for an ally to help you, your child, or a beloved elder navigate the suffering and stresses of life, from a place of grounded respect and curiosity, I would be honored to hear from you.

Julie Puttgen's Groups

Meditation for Resilience and Resistance

Meditations for Resilience and Resistance (MRR) draws from traditional relaxation and awareness frameworks as gateways into authentic presence, agency, curiosity, and connection with self, world & other. Sessions include guided meditation practice, group conversation, and Expressive Arts modalities (drawing, sand-tray, movement) to help integrate new insights and experiences. No prior meditation experience is required. We will work within a safe, playful, co-created space to support engagement with complex material. https://www.108namesofnow.com/mrr.html

More about this group

Embodied Dreamwork Group

A new group forming to explore participants' dreams in an embodied, expressive way. Each session, we will create a grounded, shared space within which to work a single dream, drawing from intuition, story, and expanded awareness to enter into its world. Our approach will be curious and open-ended, rather than extractive. The group will meet twice monthly, day & time TBD, for 90 minutes. Session fee: $240 for 3 months. No drop-ins.
