Life can be complicated and confusing, as an individual or a couple. Making room for joy, for satisfaction – for even a deep breath – can get pushed aside amid the demands of children, parents, school, work, and the flood of world news. You may be struggling with desired changes, such as parenthood or going away to college, or with the loss of a loved one or a long-term way of living. You may have experienced a traumatic event, or be concerned with emotional eating. Or maybe you just feel that something isn’t quite right, even though life looks fine on the surface.
I offer a quiet, safe space to slow down and explore your internal experiences. We would begin with your current concerns, and then work to understand how your present feelings and reactions may be unknowingly shaped by family patterns or earlier trauma. This opens a path to desired changes that last.
All of this will be informed by the unique person or couple you are. As a mixed-race cisgender woman, I've lived with both dominant and minority culture experiences. As a therapist, I intentionally make room for the many intersections of identity, as well as intergenerational experiences of family and history. I look forward to starting our conversation.
