Life is challenging and I truly believe that we are all doing our best to navigate its complexities. However, we don’t get it right all the time and so it leads us to face the consequences of our own choices and the choices of others. These consequences can sometimes feel overwhelming, trapping us in ineffective, old strategies.
As your counselor, my goal is to help you find safety, empowerment, and be fully present so that you can be the person you were created to be. Together, we will work through your current struggles, resolve past hurts, and gain insight into how these experiences shape your present choices and relationships.
I often describe the work I do as play therapy for adults – finding ways to connect with and heal the vulnerable, inner child. Relationships can be a source of healing, and so I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you on your journey. I am trained in Christian counseling and love to integrate these concepts and techniques based on your comfort level.
I am aware that my own upbringing in a legalistic church left me with scars. I understand the pain caused by those who misrepresent the love of Jesus and the church that was meant to be a source of support. I now find solace in understanding that God stands against division and shame. I commit to continually working to understand how this affects our work.
