My practice is based less on types of presenting issues and more on some fundamental assumptions about humanity. 1) Any client I work with is doing the best they can in the moment I meet them, 2) all people respond to compassion and understanding, and all people are injured by shaming and 3) two opposing things can be true at the same time, and much of our suffering is an inability to sit with that belief. Whoever you are and whatever your reason for seeking treatment, I will meet you exactly where you are the moment you walk in my virtual door. I consider myself your partner in your journey to find and be your most authentic self.
Unlike many clinicians, I don't have one theoretical orientation that I predominantly use in my work. I believe all treatment options have something to bring to the table. I have 100 tools in my toolbox, and I pull out whichever ones help us achieve your goals in our session. However I am somatically oriented and more often use IFS, EMDR, Polyvagal, and DBT.
Past clients have described me as warm and empathetic, but straightforward. I will never judge you, and I believe you are the expert on yourself.
