I have been working with children (ages 5-17 years), their parents and families in the areas of grief counseling, separation/divorce, trauma-based issues, mood disorders including depression/anxiety in children, ADHD, anger management and other behavior management issues for the past 19 years. I also work with adults and couples to address issues including divorce/marital issues, grief, communication and intimacy issues. My office hours are geared to the working mom/dad offering evening and weekend appointments. We accept most major insurance plans, Medicaid and some EAP plans. We also offer a sliding scale fee.
I use evidence based interventions based on a behavioral, cognitive-behavioral and solution focused approach to therapy as well as play therapy. I strongly believe in including the family in treatment and family sessions are a significant part of my treatment planning.
I am a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) and a Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida for Mental Health Counseling Interns. I am also a trained family mediator helping divorcing parents to agree on issues such as co-parenting and time sharing.
