Julie A Visnich
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, LAC
14 years in practice. Experienced with couples, adolescents, and families in crisis, transition, or experiencing disappointment with life. An important question I explore with clients is: How are the events in my life trying to expand me as a being? This is a very powerful question, much more so than, "Why me?" I draw from psychological theory, neuroscience, and spirituality/mindfulness to help re-frame old, unhealthy patterns and foster acceptance and compassion for self. This occurs in a safe and loving environment that enables clients to look more closely at their own behaviors and thought patterns without defensiveness.
My approach is strengths based (not pathology or staying in the past). Crisis, Transition, Trauma, Anxiety, Decision Making, Communication Skills, Boundaries, Spirituality/Mindfulness, Developing Relationship with Self, Retooling Marriage/Relationship, Emotional Intelligence Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Clinical Hypnosis, Matrix Remimprinting.
Providing a way for clients to dive deeply, below the surface to what is meaningful and healing, while employing a robust sense of humor. Laughing at the travesties of life lightens us. Broadly experienced in multiple life areas such as corporate business, non-profit, and academia.
