I specialize in kids and teens who are typically described as the "wallflower," who may not be getting the social nourishment they desire, but also don't know where or how to start. The kids and teens I work with struggle with social anxiety and self esteem issues. My clients learn how to become more self fulfilled, gain more confidence around peers, express themselves better at home with their family, and grow socially. I also offer parent sessions and family sessions for families who feel like they need the extra support for their child or adolescent.
For clients who are struggling with their confidence, I provide a space where they feel safe to express themselves and focus primarily on their strengths using the strengths-based approach. Clients struggling with peer conflict and trouble in school will learn conflict resolution skills, practice socializing, and work on assertiveness training.
If your kid or teen has been self isolating, not participating in activities that used to bring them joy, seeming more irritable or "prickly" than usual, and/or not expressing themselves as much as they usually do, they may need support in one or more of my areas of expertise.
