I often find that we can put such pressure on ourselves to "keep it all together" or even be "perfect." But that can be a heavy load to carry, and you don't have to carry it alone. I offer therapy with adults and older teens (generally 16+) and enjoy working with a variety of topics like anxiety, depression, stress, OCD, ADHD, disordered eating, chronic illness, young adulthood, identity, and relationships. In addition, I have particular experience and training in working with spiritual/religious concerns if a client wants to, especially topics of religious trauma, faith deconstruction, or moral perfectionism (scrupulosity).
In therapy, I hope to offer an affirming, nonjudgmental space to practice shifts from being hard on ourselves toward being kind to ourselves. I take an integrative approach prioritizing the therapeutic relationship while drawing on elements of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), narrative therapy, and more.
At times, my clients have noticed that I may offer a listening ear, a different way to think about things, a sense of humor, a book recommendation or journaling prompt, or perhaps just a companion to bear witness to your story.
