Hi! My name is Julia Kennedy and I'm the founder of Lumi Counseling, PLLC and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I take an easygoing, collaborative approach to therapy and strive to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as ACT, CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and more. I tend to work most often with pre-teens, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, stress, adjustment challenges, and identity concerns, focusing on self-compassion and meaningful change.

During our first session, I'll focus on getting to know you and helping you get to know me, creating a comfortable, low-pressure space to build rapport. We’ll then talk about what brought you to therapy and explore your goals. By the end of the session, we’ll have a shared understanding of how we can work together and a plan for moving forward.
