I work with client's with a variety of presenting issues. I help the client's identify specifically what they want out of therapy, asking things such as what do they want to change, what will be different when it changes, how will they know things are better so that I can develop a plan to help them meet their goals.
I am knowledgeable in several different theoretical orientations and techniques/strategies associated with the theoretical orientation. I use the theoretical orientation and techniques that best fit each client's needs. I strongly believe in an individual treatment plan, rather than a general one that generally addresses the presenting issue.
The best way I know I am doing a good job with my client's is when they refer other potential client's to me. I've had multiple people contact me and say they were referring by a past or present client, and will make comments like the person that referred them says I am a really good therapist, am kind, am compassionate, etc.
