My approach as a therapist is to honor the inherent worth and dignity of all. My intention is to deeply listen, and to be truly present. I seek to be an ally to the people I work with, in awakening the parts that have been silenced, and to hear and understand their stories. I draw from relational, depth psychology, and somatic perspectives. You'll have the opportunity to learn techniques for nervous system healing, and regulation. This will increase your ability to move beyond habitual patterns of thinking and behaving, and towards having the freedom to choose how you inhabit yourself and your relationships.
I specialize in depth psychology and a somatic approach, which means our work together might focus on uncovering unconscious beliefs and patterns, and understanding how your nervous system has been impacted by past experiences, culture, relationships. This can help you to move beyond perceived boundaries and to increase your understanding of who you are.
I'm working towards building my awareness of how racism, sexism, white privilege, heterosexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ageism, ability, body size and social class has impacted myself and my communities. I seek to make space for everyone and to honor their individual stories.
