I have over 15 years of experience working with children and families. I have treated children with a variety of issues, including: emotional dysregulation, attention and hyperactivity disorders, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, anxiety, and other behavioral difficulties. I work with children who have experienced trauma, have attachment difficulties, family disruptions, or adjustment issues. I have experience running social skills groups and am trained in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy. I am a member of the Association for Play Therapy and am a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor.
I am committed to providing a safe and accepting environment for children to explore their thoughts and feelings, and communicate them in the way most natural to them--play. I use a child-centered approach, and incorporate other interventions as needed based on each child's individual needs. I also provide parent coaching and counseling.
My work in schools has given me the opportunity to work as part of an inter-disciplinary team. I am very familiar with the CPSE/CSE processes and can offer advice regarding IEP development and school placement, and can consult with teachers and related service providers to coordinate therapeutic interventions.
