Creating compassion and understanding for yourself is different than making excuses for your behavior. When we are able to understand how our backgrounds and experiences influence the way we relate to the world around us, we are able to become more intentional in our relationship with ourselves and with others. Together we can explore how to best support you in living a life guided by your values and deepen your understanding of your identities.
Effective therapy begins with a genuine client-therapist relationship. I continue to deepen my knowledge of how societal systems impact mental health and work to cultivate an understanding of how we can decolonize the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a space for us to work together in collaboration, authenticity, and shared humanity.
Influenced by neuroscience and evidence-based practices, I will work with you to create a holistic treatment plan based in your strengths and interests. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed perspective and incorporate somatic psychotherapy and mind-body techniques to create a grounded approach, based in research and cultural-sensitivity.
