Starting therapy is a big step and I like to demystify the process. Drawing on tools from cognitive-behavior therapy and positive psychology, I help people approach their current difficulties in a structured and collaborative manner. We'll talk about how you feel, but also discuss concrete strategies to help. I work with individuals with depression, anxiety, stress or relationship issues. Coping with acute and chronic illness is an area of particular interest. I also work with people who are feeling stuck or overwhelmed in either their personal or professional lives with the goal of not just getting by, but flourishing.
I listen carefully and integrate past history and your current situation. I was trained in cognitive therapy by the late Aaron Beck, and take an active approach. As an Instructor in the University of Pennsylvania's Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) program, I have the opportunity to stay up to date with new ideas in the field.
