As a doctorate of Social Work (DSW) and Licensed Therapist/ Licensed Clinical Social Worker I have over 25 years of experience helping adolescents, young adults, adults, couples and families in various settings in the Orlando and Central Florida community. I have advanced training and experience treating a vast array of mental health concerns. I am certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to assist with trauma and high level emotional challenges. My primary goal is to create a caring and collaborative environment for an individual's counseling experience and assist clients to achieve personal growth and improvement.
I use Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, a strengths-based approach, and Client-Centered techniques. I also use creative methods such as metaphor, healing stories, art, music, and relaxation therapy throughout the therapeutic process. I am trained through different modalities focusing on relationships, life choices, and gender/sexual identity.
My extensive professional experience has included work in residential treatment, the Juvenile Justice System, foster care, middle & high schools, community mental health services and private practice. Various positions include direct therapy, supervision/clinical director, and serving as an adjunct professor at UCF School of Social Work.
