The beautiful anomaly of therapy is it is something that everyone can use yet what one needs and finds beneficial is different for everyone. As a provider, I utilize a person-centered approach because I believe counseling should be individualized. The working relationship between client and therapist is something that can be transformative both inside and outside of the office.
I am a licensed mental health counselor and have been working in the field for over 7 years. I have worked extensively with both children and adults providing several services including: individual counseling, marriage and family counseling and group counseling. I have been trained in EMDR and actively practicing for a little over 2 years.
Creating a safe and welcoming environment either in person or via telehealth is one of my main priorities and in this, I allow clients to lead with how much or how little they are ready to share in the moment. In doing so, I respect the idea that healing and recovery takes time and is different depending on each individual and their personal experiences.
