The adolescent years are the most vulnerable and exciting years of a young person’s life. I believe that a young woman with a strong sense of self will have the ability to live her happiest and truest life and will make a lasting impact on society at large. However, self discovery can often yield low self esteem, independence can easily shift to rebellion, and a slow maturation process often creates impulsive decision making. When a parent’s warnings and worries don’t seem to have an impact on the teenager’s course, or when it feels too heavy to carry alone, it’s helpful to have another guiding force to help.
I also love working with small children. A child's emotions carry an amazing and natural ability to change and heal with proper care and support. However, children don’t always have the vocabulary or the insight to articulate their emotions in the same way adults do. Play therapy is an amazing resource to support a child through expressing their feelings.
