About
(Not Accepting Clients) Hi! I'm Joy, an LCSW licensed in CT, MD, and NY. My private practice aims to serve adults who identify as Black, African American, People of Color, and African immigrants. These individuals have endured multiple stressors, life changes, trauma, depression, and anxiety. They may be wondering if therapy is right for them or if it can help them get better. If you reside in any of these three states and you have considered some or all of the above then we may be a good fit.
As a generalist-eclectic practitioner, cultural humility and trauma-informed care permeate all I do. My toolbox includes techniques like Problem-Solving Treatment, Behavioral Activation, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I work with individuals, couples, premarital counseling, supervision for social new social work grads, and consulting.
I look forward to creating an authentic therapy or supervisory experience for and with you. If you are looking for a warm and supportive therapist or supervisor who is ethnically similar and culturally aware; then do not hesitate to reach out today.
