About
Hi! I'm Joy, an LCSW licensed in CT, MD, and NY. (Not accepting clients at this time). My private practice serves adults who identify as Black, People of Color, and African immigrants. These individuals have endured multiple stressors and trauma; and wonder if therapy is right for them or can help them get better. If this is you and you are a resident of these three states, we may be a good fit. I am a trauma therapist and will engage with you to dismantle your childhood and past. With this insight, we will begin to heal and then recreate an adaptive present and hopeful future.
In 2023, I will be running a trauma psychoeducational and support group for Black women tagged 'Purpose In My Pain' (see flyer below for details).
In addition to psychotherapy, I provide clinical supervision for new social work graduates or LMSW/LGSW (email me). I look forward to creating an authentic therapy or supervisory experience with you. If you are looking for a warm and supportive therapist or supervisor who is ethnically similar and culturally aware; then do not hesitate to reach out today.
