I believe psychotherapy is an interactive process. Therefore, I am an active participant with my patients, offering my opinions and sharing my thoughts.
I think people can begin to change in a fairly short amount of time if they put forth the effort. Although I have worked with people over long periods of time, most patients can move forward succesfully once they understand their issues and have started down a more productive path.
Through active listening, compassion, and trust I have taken part in a process where people create the lives that they want from lives that have been miserable.
In my practice, I answer my own telephone & personally respond to emails. My strengths include being comfortable discussing difficult issues, an interactive style, & easily connecting with people. I provide a down to earth approach in therapy, connecting through genuineness & honesty, providing functional suggestions to help people make changes they desire.
In addition to therapy, my practice provides Therapeutic Placement Consultations to families needing guidance when placing a loved one in a Therapeutic Wilderness program, Boarding School, or Residential Treatment Facility. With knowledge of programs across the U.S., I guide people to programs that fit their specific needs.
