Entering therapy is both a choice and an act of courage. It is a commitment to healing, evolution, and creating deeper connection to self and others. Before beginning this process, clarify intnent; What do I/we want from therapy? What do I/we want to address or change? What do I/we need from a therapist? These answers will inform how you move you toward change. Please note, while empowering, therapy is also challenging. Sharing old wounds, staying in the moment, expanding perceptions of your humanity, and risking being seen, is hard work. I've assisted many people to facilitate this process, and I believe I can support you as well.
Good therapy is like a strong relationship; it requires vulnerability, honesty, respectful and consistent boundaries, curiosity, humor, and earned trust to nurture growth. It's not easy, especially if one has been hurt. I work from relational, developmental, systemic, and psychodynamic frames. I'm happy to discuss this collaborative experience with you.
I offer an opportunity to be seen; to explore your sense of self, worth, sexuality, and relationship potential. This process evolves from risk taking, honest self-appraisal, and advocating for what you want. Therapy invites movement towards evolution; changing unhelpful patterns, while creating a more nuanced sense of self in relationship to others.
