Much of the work of any talk therapy is trying to do things differently. Which is hard work! Often long-term work. I specialize in treating adults with longstanding difficulties, including depression and anxiety, unstable self-esteem, and loneliness. Many of the people I work with struggle in interpersonal relationships and have histories of trauma.
My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic. This type of therapy helps you to better understand yourself and the self-defeating patterns that play out in your life. By better understanding how you get stuck in these patterns, you will be better equipped to find your way out of them.
I am not a believer in quick fixes and easy answers. And I generally take a long game view of therapy. My aim is to be your ally and co-investigator as you work to make changes in your life that won’t just make you feel better today but will change your life in the years to come.
