Hello, my name is Joseph Ramsey and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have 23 years of experience in the field and 16 of those 23 years has been spent providing counseling services to families, individuals, and couples. My approach is collaborative and I firmly believe in honesty and transparency. My focus areas are anxiety, depression, problems related to anxiety and depression (i.e. obsessive compulsive disorder) and trauma. I am most comfortable treating anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorders, bipolar I and II, mood disorders, grief, complex trauma, and anger issues.
I am a classically trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT), this was the focus of my graduate work. I have expanded my skill set and can provide Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Densitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
I love people. I love helping people. I do not believe that people are inherently bad, and I believe that recovery is real. My father died suddenly when I was 11 and my mom raised my sister and I without any help from anyone. I decided that I would do anything I could to help others in that position.
