I believe that the relationship you have with your therapist will be the number one determining factor for the success of your sessions. I primarily use a person-centered approach in therapy, which means I strive to meet you where you are in each session. I implement a trauma-focused integrated approach (including CBT, emotion-focused, and family systems theory) to help clients process their past experiences in an accepting and safe way.
I have found that you may be in 2 groups: you have had bad experiences with therapy or you don't know what it can be for you yet.
